Communities Crushing Cancer (CCC) is a dynamic, resident-led initiative aimed at raising cancer awareness and increasing cancer screening rates. This impactful program began as a state-wide effort involving eight residency programs across Massachusetts and has since evolved into a national patient outreach event.
Our Mission
CCC strives to educate patients, families, and hospital employees on the importance of Breast, Lung, and Colorectal Cancer screenings by distributing informational brochures and connecting individuals to vital resources. This initiative not only enhances patient care but also provides Radiology trainees with a meaningful way to reconnect with their communities and renew their sense of purpose in their daily work. This national movement plays a significant role in advancing health equity, ensuring that all individuals have the opportunity to receive the cancer screening and preventive care they need.
Why is CCC Important?
Increasing Access to Cancer Screening
The CCC event focuses on raising awareness about the importance of cancer screenings, such as for breast, lung, and colorectal cancers. By providing educational materials and resources, the initiative aims to ensure that underserved and minority communities have access to vital screening information.
